Biography of Prof. Mohamed Alwarraky:

Professor Mohamed Shawky Alwarraky, a prominent figure in diagnostic and interventional radiology, currently serves as Head of Radiology at the National Liver Institute, Menoufia University, Egypt. Renowned for his pioneering contributions to hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal interventional radiology, Prof. Alwarraky’s career is marked by dedication, innovation, and extensive clinical expertise.

Prof. Alwarraky earned his medical degrees from Menoufia University, completing his MD in Diagnostic Radiology in 2005. He played a pivotal role in establishing Egypt’s first accredited master’s and doctoral programs in interventional radiology at the National Liver Institute.

His clinical acumen includes performing thousands of complex procedures like TIPS, portal vein embolizations (PVE), and tumor ablations using advanced techniques such as radiofrequency and microwave ablation. His international training spans France, Hungary, and Turkey, further enriching his global perspective and technical skills.

Prof. Alwarraky co-founded the Egyptian Society of Interventional Radiology and significantly contributed to various scientific societies dedicated to liver diseases and interventional radiology. He has published extensively, with over 55 research papers in reputable international journals, reflecting his deep commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and patient care.

A respected educator, he has supervised numerous postgraduate theses and trained many specialists, cementing his legacy as a leader in medical education and clinical excellence in Egypt and the region.
