Biography of Dr. Mohamed Hamed:

Professor Mohamed Hamed, a distinguished figure in radiology and interventional radiology at Cairo University’s Kasr Al-Ainy Faculty of Medicine, stands as one of Egypt’s pioneering experts in tumor treatment and minimally invasive interventions. He currently serves as Vice President of the International Society of Minimally Invasive and Non-invasive Surgery, making history as the first Egyptian physician elected to this prestigious international role.

Renowned for his groundbreaking contributions, Dr. Hamed established “HIFU Egypt,” the first center in the Middle East and Africa dedicated to focused ultrasound tumor ablation, significantly advancing the fight against cancer. His election as Vice President, with an overwhelming 73% of votes, underscores his influential role and pioneering vision in the global medical community.

His academic and professional journey includes extensive training at Cairo University Hospitals, the National Cancer Institute, and renowned centers in China and Holland, gaining unparalleled expertise in oncology intervention techniques such as RFA, microwave ablation, irreversible electroporation, and pain management.

Dr. Hamed holds prominent roles in several medical associations, including the Egyptian Society of Interventional Radiology, the Egyptian Pain Foundation, and “Shefaa” Interventional Center. Recognized internationally, he has shared his insights at prestigious forums and published numerous influential papers in leading medical journals.

Currently, he is the Head of Medical Imaging at Assalam International Hospital, a JCI-accredited facility in New Cairo, and a senior interventional consultant at top-tier hospitals including Dar Al Fouad Hospital. His dedication and exceptional contributions to the field have earned him awards and recognition worldwide, solidifying his position as an influential leader in interventional radiology.
