Biography of Prof. Amr Mahmoud:
Professor of Interventional Radiology and interventional neuroradiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, and one of the distinguished doctors in this specialty.
Fellow of the Universities of Francois Rabelais and Paris Descartes, France.
He has been graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in 1999 with honor degree and completed his clinical training in the Interventional Radiology Unit in Ain Shams University. Then he received a scholarship in the field of interventional neuroradiology in France between 2006 and 2008. Dr. Amr Mahmoud completed his MD degree in 2008, being the first to combine two subspecialties in the field of radiology: interventional radiology and interventional neuroradiology.
Dr. Amr is working as an interventional radiology consultant in numerous public and private hospitals. He is a founding member of the Egyptian Society of Interventional Radiology and the Arab Society of Interventional Radiology. He has also worked as a visiting consultant in Amiri Hospital in Kuwait and King Abdullah Medical City in Mecca. He has contributed to the treatment of hundreds of patients with brain aneurysms and acute stroke. Uterine fibroids and central venous catheters also receive a significant portion of his medical attention.
He is acting as reviewer for the Egyptian Journal of Radiology and the Journal of Neuroradiology. He has also published several research papers in various scientific journals.
He has supervised numerous master’s and doctoral theses and has delivered numerous scientific lectures at local and international conferences.
He has contributed to the establishment of interventional radiology units in several hospitals in Egypt.
He is currently the president of the interventional radiology summit of the annual Arab African International Congress in Egypt.
